From LinkedIn

An example for the positive impact of learning from one another. 🚀✨💪🏻 Without NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration inventing synthetic vision, and Mica Endsley making situation awareness a field of science, there would be no #VisualPatientAvatar. Aerospace science of the past half century laid the foundation behind a solution that now, every day and night, helps to improve situational awareness for clinicians and patients on the only 🌏 we all share. Thank you, Association of Space Explorers, and Philips for pushing the boundaries of science, innovation, and collaboration.✨🌱🕊️

Generation Space · the wider congress context

Mascha Berrens connected the aviation-inspired avatar with Philips’ sponsorship of the Association of Space Explorers congress. Philips’ Generation Space announcement described its wider involvement in the 2024 event and the premiere of André Kuipers’ film.

Physicians in space

The photographs include two physicians who flew to the International Space Station. André Kuipers, an ESA astronaut, flew the DELTA mission in 2004 and the PromISSe mission in 2011–2012, serving as a flight engineer on ISS Expeditions 30 and 31. Tom Marshburn flew aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour on STS-127 in 2009, Soyuz TMA-07M for Expeditions 34/35 in 2012–2013, and Crew Dragon Endurance for Crew-3 / Expeditions 66/67 in 2021–2022. He was Crew-3’s pilot and commanded the station during Expedition 67; before becoming an astronaut, he served as a NASA flight surgeon and ISS Medical Operations Lead.
