Thank You, Mica Endsley

I would like to say thank you on today’s #IWD25 to one of my greatest role models, Mica Endsley, the scientist who pioneered situation awareness as a scientific field. Whether flying an airplane, working in the OR, or advancing avatar science, Mica’s contributions are everywhere. She has authored over 200 scientific articles on situation awareness, and her books have enabled us to create our situation awareness-oriented visualization technologies. As a former Chief Scientist of the U.S. Air Force, she continues to speak scientific truth and stands as a lighthouse for scientific integrity. In my research group, I have witnessed so many brilliant women achieve greatness over the years that it insults me whenever I hear that they are still being held back. Don't be denied. The world needs more female lead. Mica Endsley, I hope you will one day receive a #NobelPrize for your contributions to flight safety and patient safety. It’s overdue, and I hope the women and men in positions to make recommendations will act. #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInScience #MicaEndsley #NobelPrize
