Do patient monitors need more numbers, or a better way to see the patient? 👀 Can the Philips Visual Patient Avatar move beyond improved situation awareness and information transfer and measurably affect real-world monitoring metrics such as vital-sign deviation time and alarm burden in perioperative care? We wondered the same. Very happy to share our new bioRxiv & medRxiv study protocol, developed together with our New York partners at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, University Hospital Zurich, and the statistics team at ETH Zurich. This is an exciting next step: testing whether human-factors improvements can translate into objective surrogate markers linked to patient safety and clinical workload. We are genuinely excited to see where the data take us. 🚀 #VisualPatientAvatar Silis Jiang, Tadzio Raoul Roche, Krzysztof Cybulski, Gaspar Dugac, Virginia Tangel, Max Ebensperger, Andy Maskos, Michael Tucci, Christoph Nöthiger, Kalisch Markus, Zachary A.
